News from VALE CONNECTION LADIES CHORUS

Mamma Mia! Local ladies chorus hits the right note with a unique Mother’s Day gift.

Enterprising Evesham ladies chorus, Vale Connection, is offering local mums a very special gift this Mother’s Day – the chance to learn how to sing in four-part harmony at their first ‘Come Back to Singing’ workshop. Vale Connection’s PR Officer, Sam Cockerton, says, “Gareth Malone, the inspirational musical director behind the success of BBC Two’s series, The Choir, has a lot to answer for!” She says the success of The Choir and other TV shows like Last Choir Standing, has encouraged a new generation of secret “shower” and ex-school choir singers to actively search for a choir where thy can re-discover their love of singing. The ladies at Vale Connection have been quick to react. In response to a growing number of new enquiries, they will be running a new ‘Come back to Singing’ workshop for ladies of all ages and from all backgrounds this autumn. The 4-week Workshop costs just £12 and anyone wishing to reserve a place either for themselves, or their mum, is asked to call 01386 561248 or email vale_connection@yahoo.com. The Chorus will provide a personalised Voucher to give to any mums who are being bought a place on the Workshop for Mother’s Day. Vale Connection’s Musical Director, Eddie Howell, says, “If you or your mum love singing and can hold a tune, we’d love to see you. You don’t need to be able to read music, as we’ll give you a range of CDs to listen to and other materials to learn from. A passion for singing and a sense of humour, however, is vital!” Vale Connection rehearse every Thursday evening at The Methodist Church on Bridge Street, Evesham and new members are always welcome. Please call 01386 561248 or email vale_connection@yahoo.com for further details.
