News from Voluntary Sector Assembly

10th Voluntary Sector Assembly a great success

A packed hall at the Kindle Centre listened intently to Kevin Curley, Chief Executive of the National Association of Voluntary and Community Action as he set out the opportunities and threats that Local Area Agreements bring to the local sector.

Kevin Curley was very impressed by the Herefordshire Community Strategy and our Story of Place.  He thought that here in Herefordshire the contribution of the Voluntary and Community Sector is taken seriously.

Engagement with the Local Area Agreement gives us an opportunity to shape strategy and make our view heard.

The threat comes from the removal in some areas of grant funding and putting services out to tender.  For information on how to protect grant funding visit the VSA website.
