Description

Read Easy is a non-registered charity that recruits, trains and allocates volunteers to teach adults with low reading skills to read on a one-to-one basis in a convenient venue. New readers and their coaches meet for half an hour at a time, two or three times a week and together work through a specially-designed, phonics based manual.

By being offered the life-long gift of reading, new readers can also in the process grow in confidence and self-esteem, be enabled to move on to other forms of education and improve their employment opportunities. For volunteers, this can be a rewarding opportunity to help others make a real change for the better in their lives.

Founded in Dorset in 2010 and already proving very successful there, Read Easy is now looking for opportunities to expand to new areas and hopes to set up a new group in Evesham in the near future.
